Our dogs will always have the need to play and go on walks in spite of the weather. It’s important to give them some time and space to have fun. Some of them can stand the rain better than others. Some of them can’t stand it at all. Here we share five tips so you can better know how to deal with the rainy season.
- Choose an appropriate place
If your dog gets stressed under the rain, ideally you should take them to a roofed space or at least with some trees so they’ll not be as exposed. A place with little dirt is better so they won’t get dirty.
- Give them something to wear
There are some specially made little boots for their paws made of neoprene or plastic, as cold and humidity could make the webbing between their paws irritated.
- Show confidence
You have to have a good attitude and convey confidence to your dog. You’re the leader of the pack and if you feel insecure or uncomfortable you’ll dog will know and will feel like that too.
- Get your dog dry after the walk
Once you’re at home it’s very important to do this to avoid any illnesses, especially if you have a very furry dog. Remember to dry well their pads because they can absorb lots of humidity even if it doesn’t look like it.
- Get your dog vaccinated
For them to be able to go out during the rainy season it’s important that they have all their vaccines so they can stay healthy even if they get wet constantly.
