First you should bathe your dog thoroughly, especially their extremities and the affected area. Use special shampoo and soap for dogs.
Second, there are many products that will help you with this task: spray, treatments, shampoo, collars and others. It’s always best to put them over clean fur.
Third, if your dog has any ticks you should make sure if it has already attached to their skin. If this is not the case then remove it. If it has already attached look for a vet to do the job for you.
Fourth, clean the bites on your dog’s skin with lukewarm water and soap. If necessary, clean them with iodine and make sure your dog won’t lick or scratch them. You can use a pet cone for this.
